Life’s a Beach at the Grammy’s

Grammy winning songs will be featured through the weekend on Classic Hits 107.5 in honor of the 54th Grammy Awards set for this Sunday night at 8pm on CBS…Life’s a Beach…watch for the Beach Boys with Brian Wilson as they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.  Performing for the first time in over 20 years.  I’ll be featuring Grammy winner Roberta Flack who turns 75 Friday on the WCCW Music Calendar at 9:40pm.  Miss Flack is the only artist besides U2 to win back-to-back Grammy’s for Record of the Year!  Plus I’ll give someone a chance to get qualified for the BIG ROMANCE!  Dean Berry

One more Superbowl mention…

How much did Madonna get paid for her halftime Superbowl performance?  Wait for it…She didn’t earn a penny!  Same reason the Black Eyed Peas didn’t get paid for theirs last year—halftime show acts perform for free. “Typically, the entertainers for the Super Bowl do not get a cash payment,” explains Marc Ganis, president of the consultancy Sportscorp Ltd. “This is the kind of exposure that entertainers would give their right arm for … they could do 20 Leno and Letterman appearances and still not reach that [kind of] audience.”  It appears then, that Janet Jackson got more exposure than most…

Groundhog Day

The spoiled sports at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have compiled data to suggest that in recent years Punxsutawney Phil’s predictions have been no more accurate than the average TV weatherman’s…very impressive for a rodent.  Actually I believe the Groundhog is a marmot…or a Khardashian…one or the other.   Dean Berry
