Nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2012 are in.  Hitting the ballot for the first time are Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the Spinners (from Detroit), the Small Faces/Faces, Rufus with Chaka Khan, Guns N’ Roses, the Cure, Freddie King and Eric B. and Rakim.   The previous nominees who made the cut are War, Donna Summer, Donovan, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Laura Nyro.  The top vote-getters will be inducted April 14 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
